In 2018 I joined the Lacey Township Preschool team and began teaching PSD -Preschool Disabled and Inclusion. Once again I fell in love with preschool as well as my new district and my amazing new team. I immediately signed up at Kean University to complete my masters in Special Education and in May 2021 I will finally graduate. My aim is to hang my hat at the Lacey School District and be a foundational part of a growing early childhood program is a community oriented district.

Inspired by my overwhelming love for Books, Books and more Books along with the need for some funding in the Preschool Program where I taught, I helped to coordinate a book fair to raise money and help get us BOOKS!!
The theme of the book fair was Circus. My class kicked off the decorating for this event by creating a hallway filled with clowns. The Book fair was a HUGE success.

STUDIES
Because my teaching foundation was built on The Project Approach, I immediately connected with the philosophy of Creative Curriculum. I have always believed that the richest learning happens when children—and teachers—have the opportunity to dive deeply into a topic rather than simply scratch the surface.
Study-based learning fosters curiosity, critical thinking, collaboration, creativity, and authentic problem-solving. It is incredible to watch how much both students and educators discover when they investigate meaningful topics together.
Below are some of my favorite studies from over the years, along with highlights of the children's investigations and our Celebrations of Learning. These moments capture the joy, curiosity, and meaningful experiences that make study-based learning such a powerful part of early childhood education.
The Tree Study
The Tree Study provides endless opportunities for meaningful learning. Children explore the natural world by observing the environment around them, identifying different types of trees, investigating the animals that depend on them, and discovering the many ways trees support our lives.
I love beginning the school year with this study because it naturally introduces families to the power of study-based learning. It sparks children's curiosity, encourages outdoor exploration, and lays the foundation for inquiry, observation, and hands-on discovery throughout the year.
As an educator, I especially enjoy any learning experience that connects children with nature. I believe some of the most authentic and memorable learning happens when children are given the opportunity to explore the world around them with wonder and curiosity.

Clothing Study
The Clothing Study is one of my absolute favorites because it offers countless opportunities for meaningful, hands-on learning. Children explore seasons, weather, culture, careers, patterns, fabrics, and develop important self-help skills such as buttoning, zipping, snapping, and tying.
One of the highlights of this study is our Paper Bag Fashion Show, where students and their families work together to design creative outfits using simple materials. The celebration not only showcases children's creativity but also strengthens the home-school connection, giving families the opportunity to learn, create, and celebrate alongside their children. It's always a joyful event and one of the most memorable experiences of the school year.

Building Study
The Building Study offers countless opportunities for learning, creativity, and collaboration. It is one of my favorite studies because it naturally integrates engineering, problem-solving, literacy, mathematics, science, and imaginative play.
One of the highlights of this study is bringing The Three Little Pigs to life through hands-on building challenges and investigations. Children love designing, testing, and improving their structures while learning about different building materials, stability, and teamwork.
I also enjoy ending this study with a Family Building Showcase, where students proudly share their creations and discoveries with their loved ones. These celebrations not only highlight children's learning but also strengthen the connection between home and school. Below are some of my favorite moments from our Building Study.
