HERE & NOW

In 2018, I joined the Lacey Township School District Preschool Program as a Preschool Disabilities (PSD) and Inclusion teacher. Once again, I fell in love with preschool—but this time I also discovered a passion for special education and inclusive practices.

Inspired by my students and colleagues, I immediately enrolled at Kean University to pursue my Master of Arts in Special Education. In May 2021, I proudly earned my master's degree, further strengthening my commitment to providing high-quality, inclusive education for all learners.

From there, my educational journey accelerated. In 2023, our district expanded its preschool program from just 7 classrooms to 27, and I was honored to be selected as the Preschool Instructional Coach. Since then, I have had the privilege of helping build a thriving, inclusive preschool program that continues to grow. Today, our district serves students in 31 preschool classrooms, providing a continuum of services through inclusion and specialized supports while utilizing HighScope and the Creative Curriculum, along with evidence-based practices to meet the needs of every learner in the least restrictive environment.

One of the greatest joys of my career is coaching teachers. I love helping educators discover their strengths, build confidence in their practice, and develop a passion for preschool education and inclusion. Watching teachers grow professionally—and seeing that growth positively impact young children—is one of the most rewarding parts of what I do.
